About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
The GVWC Sickle Cell Support & Research Initiative (GSSRI) is a U.S.-based program dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease through advocacy, research-driven solutions, and community-centered support services. GSSRI operates under its parent organization, Global Vision for Women and Children (GVWC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to advancing health equity and serving underserved communities.

Our Story
The GVWC Sickle Cell Support & Research Initiative (GSSRI) was created to respond to the urgent needs of individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease and to help close persistent gaps in access to care, support, and advocacy. Operating under its parent organization, Global Vision for Women and Children (GVWC), we have already supported sickle cell patients through community outreach, education on crisis prevention, and efforts to connect families with healthcare resources. We have developed plans for crisis support kits, patient navigation services, and data-driven programs designed to improve outcomes and reduce preventable complications. Our story is rooted in compassion, innovation, and a commitment to building a future where every person living with sickle cell disease has the opportunity to live a healthier and more empowered life.
