Ongoing Research

Currently, St Ruth is conducting a research on Improving Early Survival in Children with Sickle Cell Disease Through Integrated Diagnosis, Nutrition, Infection Prevention, and Longitudinal Follow-Up in Nigeria. 

Research Topic:

An Integrated Continuum-of-Care Model to Improve Survival and Reduce Under-Five Mortality Among Children with Sickle Cell Disease in Sub-Saharan Africa 

 

Overall Objective

The overall objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an integrated sickle cell survival model—combining early diagnosis, nutrition support, infection prevention, and longitudinal follow-up—in reducing morbidity and under-five mortality among children with sickle cell disease in Nigeria.
