Research is at
the heart of what we do
Our scientists and clinicians work to:
-
Develop better treatments for sickle cell disease and other childhood related diseases.
-
Conduct community studies on child health and nutrition.
-
Publish and share data-driven solutions to improve child healthcare in Nigeria and Africa

Ongoing Research
Currently, St Ruth is conducting a research on Improving Early Survival in Children with Sickle Cell Disease Through Integrated Diagnosis, Nutrition, Infection Prevention, and Longitudinal Follow-Up in Nigeria.
Research Topic:
An Integrated Continuum-of-Care Model to Improve Survival and Reduce Under-Five Mortality Among Children with Sickle Cell Disease in Sub-Saharan Africa
Overall Objective
The overall objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an integrated sickle cell survival model—combining early diagnosis, nutrition support, infection prevention, and longitudinal follow-up—in reducing morbidity and under-five mortality among children with sickle cell disease in Nigeria.
